Alli Jo comes from a family of educators and swim instructors.  She is a certified Water Safety Instructor through the American Red Cross. The summer of 2024 marks her 25th year of teaching individuals how to swim.

Her grandparents started a family swim school over 50 years ago in central California where summers were spent watching her mom, aunts and uncles teach hundreds of kids how to swim. Her first job was as a lifeguard and then she joined the family business during the summers throughout college and formed her own style of teaching- a unique mixture of fun, patient instruction with a huge emphasis on water safety.

While working full-time in management for a thriving San Diego business, she found herself teaching her friends' children how to swim after work.  The demand became so much that she decided to pursue her passion of opening a swim school to serve San Diego.  In the early spring of 2012, Alli Jo's Swim School was officially opened and it has been busy ever since. 2024 marks our 12th year serving San Diego County!

Teaching swim lessons to both children and adults has always been her passion.

Most interesting place Alli Jo has swam? With sea gypsies off of Koh Phayam, Thailand.

The globe is over 70% water and there is so much fun to be had in it. I love the moment when an individual switches from fear to enjoyment in the water. They’re forever freed up to explore- whether it’s boating, surfing, snorkeling, swimming or even a fun game of pool volleyball. I love giving the tools to equip people with both safety and enjoyment of the water.
